Friends and family, thanks for accompanying me, albeit not physically, on my ordination day. This is my second to last step before I finish seminary and begin ministering as a priest. As a deacon, I will be able to officiate weddings and baptize babies (!). I am very happy to have reached this day, and I had a lot of help along the way. So thanks to all of you.
I have realized that I really don’t need any material goods at this time, but there are people in the world who do. If you were considering sending me some sort of congratulatory gift, it would mean a lot to me if instead you donated to Mission OLA, which is a mission to the poor of the city of Chicago run by some very awesome Franciscans. I volunteer with them sometimes on weekends during the school year. If you were not considering giving me some sort of congratulatory gift, this is NOT me trying to pressure you to do so. Please don’t feel obligated. You can donate online here, or you can mail your donation by making a check out to Mission OLA and sending it to 3808 W. Iowa St, Chicago, IL 60651.
Please keep me in your prayers as I begin my life as an ordained servant of the Church, and please keep the Franciscans and those whom they serve in your prayers.
