Help me help the WEST SIDE, all for Jesus!
Running a different kind of Marathon in 2019 ...
Let's Face It: Marathons are life-changing! I ran my first in 2010 ... but after a serious injury in 2011, I never thought I'd run a marathon again. And then in 2018, it happened! And not only that, but it was an incredible experience of grit and grace: under 5 hours of intense awesomeness!
We are literally days away from the 2019 Chicago Marathon. Some how, in His mysterious providence, the Lord didn't permit this training season to go as I had hoped, and I won't be able to run the 26.2 miles on October 13. But I'm not throwing in the towel ... I'm doing all I can!
My 2019 marathon has turned into one of hope and support for others who are running, while I try to remain faithful to my relationship with Jesus, daily prayer and to the "marathon" of work marked out for me as a Franciscan Sister! From cooking for 100s of neighbors on the West Side to scrubbing floors to preparing lesson plans for the ~ 200 children I teach at an inner city Catholic School, there is no act of service that is too much to ask when you are literally on a Mission from God! And, I desperately need your help to take the next bold step at the Mission:
The funds I raise will be used to complete the renovation of our new outreach center to the poor in West Humboldt Park. The new outreach center will provide the very needed space for our donation storage/ distribution, a handicapped accessible kitchen/ dining room, meeting space for neighborhood and retreat groups, and a 60+ bedroom retreat center for volunteers and retreat guests.
You can learn about ALL the exciting details here:

Please help me bring more hope, more joy and more of Jesus' Light to our brothers and sisters in need. We are living in tough times--and there is no better way to meet a challenge then rise to the occasion! Rock on!
