National Pro-life organization advocating for the legal protection of every human life from conception to natural death. We aim to educate public consciousness, elect pro-life leaders, and support pro-life laws and policies in Canada and abroad. We organize the Canadian National #Marchforlife and coordinate #LifeChain in Canada
Category: Pro-life
Start Date: January 16, 2018
For decades now, Campaign Life Coalition and The Interim newspaper have been hiring
summer interns to help relieve the workload of our staff, and to provide these
young people the opportunity to learn firsthand what it’s like to work in the
pro-life and pro-family movement. They rotate through various tasks and
supervisors so that they can appreciate the breadth of the work that we do –
from administrative tasks, to writing articles, to assisting our political team,
to organizing Life Chain, to engaging peers through CLC Youth, etc. Interns
also participate in weekly training sessions, activism, and events on behalf of
the organization.
Our program is intended to form future leaders by equipping
interns with the knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to defend life
from conception to natural death. Former interns have gone on to have many
exciting and fulfilling careers, such as in religious ministry, education,
politics, media, business, health care, etc. Many have continued to work for
the pro-life movement, either as employees of Campaign Life Coalition, or with
another organization.
These young people come to us at what is traditionally a
crossroads in their development into adulthood; students today are increasingly
shielded from a diversity of perspectives, and don’t have a forum where they
can sharpen their ability to discern and communicate truth. Thus, CLC seeks not
only to educate program participants, but also to encourage critical thinking
and instill values and virtues.
You can read testimonies about the impact of the internship
here: https://www.campaignlifecoalition.com/summer-internship.
You can also watch a video from Assistant Youth Coordinator
Maeve Roche describing her internship experience below.
Although COVID-19 has presented challenges for our
internship program, none have proven insurmountable, and for the first time, we
are providing interns the option to work remotely, although our preference
remains that they work out of our Hamilton headquarters.
Our goal for 2021 is to hire a minimum of 6-8 students in
the summer months, but if it looks like we’ll have the resources to hire more,
we would be more than thrilled to do so, as we have a surplus of deserving
applicants.
Because the Liberal government is now barring pro-life
groups from receiving funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program (though it
continues to fund pro-abortion groups), the attainment of this goal is entirely
dependent on generous support from our donors.
Please help sustain Campaign Life Coalition's summer
internship by donating today.

Disclaimer: Should CLC surpass
the goal, and/or the government permit pro-life organizations to receive grants
from the Canada Summer Jobs program once again, the funds will be used by CLC
at their discretion.
