Amherst, New Hampshire
Greetings,
Last
week I reached out to the Superintendent of Houston to ask what we could do to
help the people in their community. We spoke for a few moments about the
outpouring of love Houston has received and the many generous souls who have
called to offer help.
As
a mother of four, I spoke to her about the pain that I felt while watching the
small children on television who had no objects of comfort, and no toys to
distract them from the devastation around them. I asked if our diocese could
contribute by hosting a teddy bear and blanket drive for the young children.
She expressed it was a wonderful idea, as it was the first time she had heard
someone suggest something for the small children who are in great need of
comfort at times like this.
“Amen, I say to
you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'”
